Emily Jones, MS, MBA, RDN is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and holds a Master’s in Clinical Nutrition from New York Institute of Technology and a Master’s in Business Administration from Dominican University.

 

Emily’s interest in nutrition first peaked when she took a few nutrition courses as an undergraduate at Cornell University. Emily never considered nutrition as a career until her grandmother was diagnosed with diabetes. She spent months educating and improving her grandmother’s diet. In the end, her grandmother was able to normalize her blood sugar and learned the skills to maintain it within the normal range. What contributed to her grandmother’s success was that Emily worked to allay fears, build confidence, and instill the belief that food can still be enjoyed in the midst of dietary change. This is now an approach Emily takes with all her clients.

 

Emily’s philosophy is that food has the power to nourish the body, awaken the mind and uplift the spirit. She believes that food can heal and what we put in our body matters whether we can see the effects immediately such as with food poisoning or later down the road in the form of disease. The goal is to have a harmonious relationship with food. Healthy eating is a daily choice since there is so much around us that is less healthy; it takes effort and planning. Transformation is possible when people are fully engaged in the process of reaching a state of well-being.

 

As a nutrition professional, Emily views each client for the unique individual that they are. Accounting for the client’s lifestyle, family dynamics, culture, professional demands, and existing eating and exercise habits, she partners with the client to create a nutrition and wellness plan suited for their exact needs and goals. Emily is committed to and enjoys providing clients with the knowledge and skills to achieve their healthiest self – a strong mind, body, and spirit.
